I’m Taiyi, a designer currently based in The Netherlands. With a profound interest in fostering connections and exploring relationships, I like to adopt an improvisational and hands-on approach in my research and design practice. Passage Lamp

# Coming out soon!

Taking inspiration from mechanical structures found in industrial and architectural environments, the pendant lamp bringing these principles into a domestic setting.

It consists of a horizontal structure with rotating shades and a spherical light source. As the shades revolve, the sphere moves along the central axis, changing the position of the light within the structure. The lamp can therefore be adjusted both as a source of light and as a physical object in space.

Rather than treating light as a fixed element, the design makes movement part of the object’s use. The changing position of the sphere continuously alters the lamp’s appearance and its relationship to the surrounding space.

The project brings a visible mechanical system into an ordinary household object, combining lighting with movement as an integral part of its form and function.
